Rehoming kittens: what to do when they are incredibly scared

Recently, a feral cat had five kittens on our property in Germany. We already have cats of our own and aren’t looking for more, but we wanted to neuter the mother cat and find her kittens a nice home.
Eventually, we caught the mom and her three babies that had survived.
Having been born in the wild, the cats were not used to people. Two tabby kittens quickly learned to trust us. The third kitten, however, was incredibly scared; it became aggressive every time we came too close, snarling and hissing at us.
Around the same time, a woman I know was looking for one or two cats. She is a mom with three children of her own so it was clear to me that she would like the two trusting kittens. Right? Wrong! Unexpectedly, she fell in love with the shy and aggressive cat in my photos.
All the same, I trusted her intuition because that’s how I found my cats too.
I kept my fingers crossed, hoping the two of them would be compatible and that the woman knew what she was getting herself into.
For the first few days, the kitten was shy with her and hid most of the time.
Imagine my surprise when I received a sweet video in which our shy kitten, now called Grisu, had turned into a cuddly tiger!
It’s amazing what shows up when you trust your awareness.
The other two kittens (Maccia & Conchi) have found a great home with my sister and her girlfriend. They love to play, turn their new home upside down and cuddle.
